Design versus Desire

There's something in this blog that i hope to find about humanity and how i fit into this auditorium of life. As of now conflict is really what dominates a majority of my time. Not like a thief who wrestles with stealing a fine piece of art from the Metropolitan but like a anthropomorphized mirror who wonders whether the reflection is an accurate picture of who i was intended to be. This all sounds a little disjointed but a very enlightened fellow said these words which changes everything...

"It’s (joy/delight) commanded because what is at stake is not just our joy but the glory of God, the honor and reputation of God. If we do not rejoice in God – if God is not our treasure and our delight and our satisfaction, then he his dishonored. His glory is belittled. His reputation is tarnished. Therefore God commands our joy both for our good and for his glory."

Why was it impressed upon me for so long, that the end of man is to kill all that isnt godly in me at the expense of joy? Why did i believe the lie that true joy can be found in freeing onself from what i was designed to do? Why do i still do it after all the Christ has done for me?

I desire that wherever anyone is who reads this in the spectrum of existence would lay down our presumptions of existence, stop fighting what i was created to do, and joyfully chain ourselves to the most delightful thing that has ever existed. Pleasure had its origin in Christ who is the exact imprint of the nature of God.

Struggle because without it there is no accountability that your joy is authentic and lasting.
-One who is in the fight
